The Stable Bar & Bistro
Just as the restaurant was once the Lodge’s coach house so the Stable Bar Bistro was once the stables. Despite being built over 150 years ago the stalls & mangers have survived intact and as a result the Stable Bar has a unique atmosphere.
We have the usual drinks you would expect in any well stocked bar with draught lagers and bitters as well as a range of local bottled beers. We also have a collection of single malt whiskies and a variety of gins to choose from including our very own Ravenstone Gin.
We have an interesting wine list from our wine merchant in Kendal with some 45 wines designed to offer something to please every palate plus a few you may not have come across before!
And if we haven’t got your favourite tipple when you visit just let us know and we will get some just as soon as we can!
Our AA Rosette
We are proud to have held an AA Rosette for our food for the last 9-years. In the words of the AA “Rosettes are solely awarded by our hotel and restaurant Inspectors, and external influences from hotels, restaurants or other guides are not taken into account. About 10% of restaurants nationwide are of a standard that is worthy of one Rosette and above. These restaurants achieve standards that stand out in their local area. They serve food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients.”
