Restaurant

The quality of our food is very important to us at Ravenstone Lodge and we go to great lengths to ensure that you will have a memorable meal.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of a new Head Chef at Ravenstone Lodge, Rob Taylor.  Rob is an outstanding chef with a wealth of experience.  Having worked under the 2 Michelin star chef Jean Marc Antonello Rob went on to gain 2 AA rosettes as Head Chef in a number of prestigious restaurants across the UK.

Rob’s culinary style is best described as the best of British cooking with a modern interpretation, so you can expect to find your favourite dishes regularly on our menus but also expect the occasional surprise!

All the food served in our restaurant is prepared daily and cooked to order using only the best possible ingredients, which is exactly what we get from our local suppliers of meat, fish, vegetables & smoked foods.  All are local businesses who are as passionate about the quality of their produce as we are about our food.

The menu changes daily reflecting the season.  Maybe for a starter you will select smoked duck and chicken breast from our smokehouse in Cartmel or perhaps Rob’s homemade Ravioli and for your main course his slow roast leg of lamb or a wild Cumbrian Venison steak served on a Rosti potato but whatever you choose we can guarantee that you will taste the difference; this is what food should taste like!

For our residents, for breakfast you can chose from the simple and healthy such as homemade pancakes with bananas & blue berries or maybe an Eggs Benedict made either with smoked salmon or bacon or the traditional full English breakfast that will set you up for a days walking on the fells. Of course we also offer a variety of options for vegitarians.
